Bananas, healthy or not?

Post by UpperDiet »

Many people believe that bananas do not fit in a diet. This is similar to the same mistaken fear that many people have when consuming eggs. As with eggs , the opposite is true. A banana contains around 100 calories per 100 grams and is loaded with vitamins and minerals.

The banana is rich in potassium, vitamin C, selenium and magnesium. In comparison with other fruits banana does contain a lot of calories. However, it is packed with fiber which will make you feel fuller after consumption. Fibers also ensure a higher metabolism, which means that the body will burns more calories. Another advantage is the substance tryptophan. The body converts this compound to serotonin, a hormone that creates a cheerful and happy feeling. This makes the banana also a good alternative for chocolate.

Not only is the banana a healthy and easy snack, it is also a welcome change from the apple. It is easy to carry and easy to eat. It can also be used as a topping on your bread as a good variety. Something different than the fat cheese or pasta. And for a hurried breakfast, a banana is an ideal solution.
