A common misunderstanding in the world of dieting is saying that toasted bread is better than a normal slice of bread if you wanna lose weight. This misunderstanding is explained pretty easily. The weight of a toasted bread is less than the weight of a bread that isn't toasted. This creates the misconception that there are also fewer calories in it. However, when you toast a bread, the weight loss is only due to less fluid in the bread. A toast thus contains as many calories as a regular sandwich. The calories on ready-made packages of toast are based on toasts usually much smaller! This is often less than the amount in a sandwich, but only because they are smaller.
